Reporting to the Team Leader, the Welder will be responsible for but not limited to: Assembling and welding Structural Steel. Rig, hoist and move materials to and from workstation. Performs crane checks daily prior to use to ensure the crane is in working condition, if applicable. Lay out reference points and symbols on the structural steel according to the blueprint. Operate welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as flux-cored arc welding. Set up and operate various equipment such as torches, drills, various clamping tools, squares, disc grinders and other hand held tools. Ensure safe work practices are adhered to and appropriate PPE is worn at all times. Mentors apprentices and junior welders by sharing knowledge and safe work practices.
