About The Position

We are seeking a Maintenance Technician to support the upkeep of a mixed-use property (industrial and office) in Montreal. This hands-on role is responsible for ensuring the properties are maintained to the highest standards of safety, environmental responsibility, and operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training preferred.
  • Experience in general building maintenance, basic repairs, and systems operations.
  • Hands-on experience with residential repair work.
  • Must be bilingual (French/English)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with or supervising contractors is an asset.
  • Familiarity with Angus Anywhere or similar Building Management Systems is considered an asset.
  • Working knowledge of Health & Safety procedures (e.g., WHMIS, Lockout/Tagout, fall protection, mold remediation) is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness and appearance of all common areas, including entrances, walkways, and facilities (e.g., shoveling, cleaning).
  • Conduct routine inspections of buildings and equipment; report required maintenance or repairs to the Operations Supervisor or Property Manager.
  • Perform basic maintenance and repair tasks, such as plumbing, interior systems (ceiling tiles, walls) breaker resets, light replacements, and lock changes.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and regulatory inspection, such as, but not limited to, Fire and Life & safety equipments, generators, etc.
  • Ensure contracted property services meet performance standards and contribute to a safe and clean environment.
  • Use the Building Management Software System (Angus Anywhere or other) to respond promptly to tenant work orders and preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Conduct weekly inspections of vacant units and report any unusual conditions.
  • Assist with contractor access to properties and coordinate site tours as needed.
  • Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies; provide recommendations to the Property Manager.
  • Oversee third-party contractors to ensure work is completed in accordance with contracts or purchase orders.
  • Complete regular utility meter readings.
