Maintenance Technician - Shorewood
About The Position
Shorewood Apartments on Mercer Island is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to support a 645-unit garden-style community spanning more than 40 acres. The role is central to the community’s operations and focuses on timely maintenance, resident service, and keeping the property and its equipment in good condition. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The technician completes resident service requests and repairs, including appliance repairs; prepares apartments for new residents through the make-ready process; maintains exterior buildings and parking areas; assists with vendor management; and performs routine equipment maintenance and inspections. The position also calls for a strong focus on teamwork, professionalism, and customer service.
Requirements
- Previous experience with painting, entry-level carpentry, appliance repair, and basic plumbing.
- Knowledge of the safe use and maintenance of hand tools, power tools, and mechanical equipment.
- High level of professionalism in manner and dress.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
- Proficiency in the MS Office Suite.
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service as part of a team.
- Complete resident service requests and repairs in a timely manner, including appliance repairs.
- Prepare apartments for new move-ins by completing the make-ready process.
- Maintain the cleanliness of exterior buildings and parking areas.
- Assist with vendor management and other duties.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections for equipment.
