About The Position
Volunteers of America Ohio & Indiana (VOAOHIN) is seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Technician to support residential and program facilities throughout the Dayton area. This role involves hands-on work, troubleshooting maintenance issues, and helping create safe, welcoming environments within a mission-driven organization. VOAOHIN is one of the region's largest nonprofit service providers, employing over 1,000 team members dedicated to helping individuals and families achieve stability and reach their full potential. The Maintenance Technician will perform a variety of building, facility, and property maintenance tasks to ensure locations remain safe, functional, and well-maintained. The work goes beyond repairs and maintenance, contributing to safe, stable environments where individuals and families can heal, grow, and thrive, positively impacting lives daily.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least one year of maintenance, facilities, construction, property maintenance, or skilled trade experience.
- Valid driver's license (required for this position).
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine, preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on buildings and grounds.
- Complete repairs involving plumbing, drywall, painting, carpentry, and general mechanical systems.
- Troubleshoot maintenance issues and identify practical repair solutions.
- Maintain exterior areas, including basic landscaping and lawn care.
- Conduct facility inspections and proactively identify maintenance needs.
- Obtain bids and assist with coordinating outside vendors and contractors for larger projects.
- Ensure repairs and maintenance work are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with organizational standards.
- Travel between multiple VOAOHIN locations as needed to support maintenance operations.
