About The Position

The Maintenance Technician performs modifications and repairs to facility, properties, equipment and furniture, and assists in the maintenance and upkeep of the general facility, including custodial functions. Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in an electrical or mechanical discipline preferred, or appropriate trade certification and at least 2 years of experience in maintenance and/or machine repair
  • Must possess good written and verbal communication skills and be able to coordinate several diverse responsibilities
  • Chemical Hygiene Training

  • May be required to obtain and maintain gowning certification
  • May be required to obtain and maintain media qualification

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for facility modifications and repair, encompassing electrical, plumbing, painting and light construction. Assures that these functions are performed in compliance with workplace safety procedures, OSHA requirements, and all applicable federal, state and local regulations, to the extent that the employee is aware of from discussions with the supervisor and training received
  • Maintain a working understanding of plant production processes, equipment, systems, and facilities in order to perform maintenance effectively, under general direction
  • Interact with, monitor and assist outside contractors and vendors in conjunction with their projects
  • Perform scheduled maintenance on equipment and facilities in accordance with the company's Maintenance Schedule and SOPs
  • Use machine tools, hand tools, and other tools of the trade to work with a variety of materials within prescribed tolerances, as directed
  • Locate, relocate, assemble and install equipment and furniture as needed or requested
  • Perform custodial functions including, maintenance of the floors, rugs, bathrooms and overall facility appearance as needed and/or directed
  • Recommend and implement methods to increase the quality of products and/or services
  • Participates in self-development activities and training of others
  • Complete the Facilities Personnel Core Competency in the Learning Management System
  • Exhibits safety awareness and safe work practices
  • Performs other related duties as may be reasonably assigned in the course of business or as requested by supervisor or management
