About The Position

Homewood is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to join the Facilities Maintenance Department. The Facilities Maintenance Technician will lead the activities of workers engaged in maintaining and repairing physical structures of buildings and maintaining grounds by performing the following duties.

Requirements

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years hands-on experience with HVAC and electrical equipment and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have a valid Drivers License.
  • Proficiency in general maintenance and use of hand tools, including painting, sanding, basic electric, and snow removal.
  • Plumbing knowledge to address leaks, clogs or other drainage problems.
  • Electrical wiring capabilities to manage problems with the building’s electricity.
  • Carpentry ability to handle basic repairs around the building.
  • Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to members, guests, and team members.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (60) pounds.
  • Valid Class C Driver License with a driving record meeting the minimum standards required by Homewood’s insurance carrier.

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate of an accredited technical school or apprenticeship, preferred.
  • Experience driving over-the-snow vehicles (snowmobiles, UTV’s and/or snowcats) highly desirable.
  • Experience operating heavy equipment, Summer, and Winter, desirable.
  • Personal tools for work may not be required.
  • Prior ski resort or hospitality experience desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Complete all maintenance and repair tasks as directed by Facilities and Operations management.
  • Monitor operation and proper use of all equipment and systems.
  • Maintain all operation buildings/structures and temporary office trailers.
  • Trouble shoot and repair issues throughout the club.
  • Answer and respond to maintenance calls for assistance.
  • Identify any issues regarding safety, hazardous conditions, or maintenance needs.
  • Monitor the use and inventory of spare parts, maintenance supplies, and equipment.
  • Communicate information related to tasks and projects that will impact service within other departments.
  • Coordinates shutdown and start-ups of utilities when conditions require it.
  • Follows procedures for use of Work Orders and Preventive Maintenance.
  • Meet with vendors and suppliers to discuss scope of, and products and materials used in repair activities.
  • Communicate accurately and effectively with Department Heads, Co-Worker, Members and Guests.
  • Adhere to safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Assists Facilities Engineer in maintaining and repairing fire and life safety systems, room equipment, HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems, kitchen appliances, refrigeration equipment, pool and pool equipment, lighting, laundry equipment and other systems/equipment as directed.
  • Manage building check lists to ensure the building assets are managed and serviced according to schedule.
  • Knowledgeable of all property emergency, safety/disaster plans and procedures.
  • Responds promptly to emergencies.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.
