About The Position

The Maintenance Technician I maintains, sets up, troubleshoots, operates, and performs preventive maintenance on production process equipment. The role performs mechanical maintenance and repairs, supports production equipment changeovers, and may operate machines as needed. It also requires a basic understanding of electronic and pneumatic circuitry and working within ISO 9001 quality guidelines in support of Contec’s quality goals.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, memos, equipment manuals, and other technical documentation.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in small-group situations, including to team members and management.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to follow detailed but uncomplicated written or oral instructions using common-sense understanding.
• Ability to logically work through equipment problems when detailed instructions may not exist.
• Knowledge and skills to perform the job’s functional and technical duties.
• Ability to demonstrate problem-solving, timely decision-making, and accountability.
• Ability to support and adhere to Contec’s core values.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical tasks and maintenance on production equipment.
• Perform daily troubleshooting and repairs.
• Operate machines as needed.
• Change over equipment to meet production requirements.
• Troubleshoot and repair production equipment and processes.
• Demonstrate a basic understanding of electronic and pneumatic circuitry.
• Work within ISO 9001 quality standards guidelines in accordance with Contec’s quality goals.
• Perform other assigned duties.
