This role is accountable for the proper maintenance and repair of all plant/buildings and grounds equipment. This includes troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and predictive maintenance. The technician will also be responsible for uploading, downloading, configuring, modifying, and troubleshooting PLC programs and process instruments. They may also be responsible for building and wiring control panels for machinery per blueprints and schematics. The technician will locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for problems, and using precision measuring and testing instruments. They will ensure the operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on motors, pneumatic components, conveyor systems, and production machines, following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications, and troubleshooting malfunctions. The role involves performing daily rounds in maintenance as needed, including monitoring of fire systems, and daily interaction with plant floor employees to seek input on process improvement ideas. The technician will work closely with Process Engineering and other maintenance team members to support plant operations and will learn and manage a computerized maintenance management system, including entering, printing, and closing work orders.
