About The Position

The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical components. This role requires the ability to troubleshoot and repair various manufacturing equipment, understand schematics, and adhere to safety standards. The technician must be reliable, possess good attendance, and be able to work effectively with others. They will also be responsible for managing their own tools and tool inventory.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of repair experience including mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical components.
  • Working ability to use precision measuring equipment such as measuring tapes, calipers, micrometers.
  • Electrical skills required to perform installation, troubleshooting, and repairs to various electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Current/up-to-date experience with various mechanical manufacturing equipment in extrusion presses, brake presses, cranes, lift trucks.
  • Knowledge of and/or experience working with hydraulic and pneumatic systems with ability to read, understand directions and/or schematics to perform calculations to specify components.
  • Knowledge of and demonstrate practical applications to all MIOSHA AND OSHA standards.
  • Ability to work in various climate conditions.
  • Experience in identifying components from parts breakdowns.
  • Time management skills.
  • Working ability to troubleshoot power transmission components, bearings, belts, cams.
  • Ability to read and understand detailed and complex electrical schematics.
  • Ability to use electrical troubleshooting skills to include a multi-meter, megger tester, amp meter.
  • Ability to read and understand Ladder logic for troubleshooting programmable logic, parametric, and industrial control systems.
  • Familiarity with spare parts inventory control system.
  • Reliable with excellent attendance record.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Must provide own tools/tool box-cart.
  • Must possess and maintain a current and valid Driver's License.
  • Must be over 18 years old.
  • Must possess a High School Diploma or State Equivalent.
  • Must be able to lift varying weights up to 75lbs.
  • Must be able to work at varying heights and or spaces.
  • Must be able to perform and maintain the physical abilities required to carry out assigned duties/tasks that include but not limited to: walking distances, standing for extended periods of time, bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting, lifting, working in varying temperatures, heights, noises, and other manufacturing environments.
  • Basic knowledge and experience with hand tools.
  • Ability to demonstrate a level of proficiency in both (manufacturing) facility maintenance and various machine repair.
  • Must be reliable with excellent attendance record.
  • Must be able to successfully complete and pass a stringent substance screening and background check.
  • Must be able to work any shift assigned and/or as requested (days, afternoons, midnights, weekends, Holidays, overtime, and/or at plant location(s) located in Garden City and Livonia.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in manufacturing machine repair and/or electrical is a plus.
