About The Position

The Maintenance Technician supports production operations by ensuring the optimal performance of manufacturing equipment. This hands-on position performs preventive maintenance, troubleshoots mechanical and electrical issues, and repairs production machinery to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement. Duties may vary depending on location.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical machinery.
• Ability to use shop tools and equipment, including a drill press, shop grinders, welders, and an oxy-acetylene torch.
• Good understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability, with practical mechanical and electrical aptitude.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Fully computer literate in a Microsoft environment.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Organization and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Maintain company-owned machinery and equipment in proper working order.
• Perform on-call emergency repairs and take control of equipment breakdowns.
• Execute ongoing improvements to machine safety and general housekeeping.
• Work with crews to complete preventive maintenance.
• Work with machine operators to troubleshoot issues and determine the root cause of mechanical problems.
• Respond quickly to maintenance requests and prioritize effectively.
• Work with the Maintenance Manager to resolve reported potential hazards.
• Work as part of a team to maintain the organization and inventory of the maintenance shop and tools.
