About The Position

The Baby Fold has been successfully wrapping services around children and families since 1902, offering life-critical support such as foster care, special education, early childhood programming, and post-adoption support. The Maintenance Technician (Part-Time up to 20 hours per week) performs routine groundskeeping and light maintenance to ensure The Baby Fold’s facilities and grounds are safe, clean, well-maintained, and in good working order. Responsibilities include minor repairs, painting, trimming, weeding, debris removal, equipment upkeep, and seasonal tasks such as sidewalk de-icing. The position works collaboratively with others and demonstrates care and respect for diverse experiences and perspectives.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in the areas of general maintenance and grounds keeping.
  • Must be able to follow verbal and written directions and complete tasks independently.
  • Must be at least 19 years old.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and auto insurance in order to drive between campuses and throughout the community to complete assigned tasks during the workday.
  • Must pass necessary background checks.
  • Demonstrated competence in serving a culturally diverse population. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a diverse workforce.
  • Mission-oriented and willing to apply The Baby Fold’s beliefs and standards to the performance of job duties.
  • Must be able to read maintenance-related instructions and complete written maintenance reports.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains agency grounds by trimming and weeding, removing debris, ensuring equipment is well-maintained, and de-icing sidewalks as needed.
  • Ensures that agency facilities are maintained in good repair and working order. Performs routine light maintenance, repair and painting.
  • Maintains clean and safe school and work environments by assisting with inspections and keeping in-progress repairs appropriately marked and/or isolated.
  • Follows guidelines to ensure compliance with building codes.
  • Assists with room set up and tear down for meetings and special events as assigned.
  • Contributes to quality improvement through active participation in Quality Improvement activities
