About The Position

Elm Plating is a family-owned and operated business with a welcoming, safe, and employee-oriented environment. We are a high production metal finisher providing Zinc barrel plating, heat treating, dip spin coating, sorting/packaging, and anodizing services. The Maintenance Teams are on 12hr rotating shifts where team members work 3 days one week, 4 days the next, and enjoy a 3-day weekend off every other week! The shift needing to be filled is 6pm - 6am. This position is for our Dip Spin facility located at 533 Hupp Ave, Jackson, MI 49203. Employee will receive 40 hours straight pay + 2 hours OT each week. This position's hourly wage starts at $32.00 per hour and up depending on experience plus $1.50 shift differential.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing production environment.
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Demonstrated experience with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic system repairs.
  • Proficiency in working with robotic systems and PLCs.
  • Strong electrical knowledge, including troubleshooting 480V 3-phase systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and ladder logic diagrams.
  • Must hold and maintain a valid forklift license.
  • Capable of handling multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Regular and prompt attendance is required.
  • Must be physically able to move throughout the plant, stand or walk for extended periods, lift up to 70 lbs., and bend, twist, kneel, and climb as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance activities.
  • Repair production equipment to ensure operational efficiency and minimize downtime.
  • Perform tasks as outlined in the preventive maintenance system.
  • Troubleshoot and repair production equipment as required.
  • Comply with all Company, Plant, Safety, and Environmental policies and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of management and plant personnel, both verbally and in writing.
  • Perform additional duties as directed by the Maintenance Manager.
  • Understand and adhere to EPC's environmental directives.
  • Be aware of and minimize the environmental impact associated with their division.
