About The Position

Aeon is seeking a skilled Apartment Maintenance Technician to join our teams at The Crest and Carrington Drive in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota. The Crest is a 171-unit community consisting of a 122-unit high-rise and a recently completed 49-unit new construction addition. Carrington Drive is a 128-unit apartment community located nearby. Working alongside full-time Maintenance Technicians at each property, this position will serve as an additional maintenance resource, providing support across both communities and helping to ensure timely, high-quality maintenance service for residents and the properties. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the physical condition of the property and ensuring Aeon's standards are met across preventative maintenance, safety, property appearance, and overall building operations. This role supports the day-to-day upkeep of the community and helps ensure residents live in a safe, well-maintained environment. Unlike many apartment maintenance roles, Aeon's maintenance positions offer a predictable Monday–Friday schedule with no on-call rotation. Responsibilities include completing maintenance work orders, performing preventative maintenance, assisting with apartment turnovers, supporting general building upkeep, managing trash removal, performing light in-house grounds maintenance and landscaping, and completing seasonal outdoor maintenance.

Requirements

Demonstrated skills in apartment maintenance is required.

Must own basic maintenance tools.
Ability to stand, walk, reach, climb, bend, and kneel for extended periods of time.
Ability to conduct property tours and inspections: Includes walking through hallways, stairwells, leasing offices, common areas, and vacant or occupied apartment homes. This may involve navigating multiple floors and uneven surfaces.
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally.
Ability to reach above and below the shoulders.
Ability to use hands and fingers to grasp, twist, and pull.
Ability to withstand external weather conditions such as working outside in the rain, cold, heat or other adverse weather.
Ability to quickly respond to sights and sounds that may pose a threat to persons or property.
Candidates must currently hold or be able to obtain the following certification within the first six months of employment with Aeon: Special Boiler's License

Responsibilities

Complete maintenance service requests by performing a wide variety of maintenance and repair tasks, including: Plumbing repairs, Electrical repairs, Appliance repair and maintenance, Air handler and general HVAC maintenance, Lock changes and hardware replacement, Preventative maintenance, Apartment turnovers and preparation for new residents, Installation and repair of doors, cabinets, light fixtures, window coverings, and other building components
Maintain the overall cleanliness and appearance of the property.
Manage regular trash removal and trash area maintenance.
Remove debris from interior and exterior areas of the property.
Perform grounds maintenance and landscaping duties, including mowing, weed whipping, operating small-engine lawn equipment, and maintaining lawns, flower beds, shrubs, and other exterior landscaping.
Perform seasonal duties such as light snow removal and salting/sanding walkways.
