About The Position

True North Management is a full-service property management company serving the Alexandria Lakes Area. We manage a variation of rental properties including residential, commercial, and vacation rentals. We handle a variety of real estate related services including but not limited to: Marketing & Leasing, Accounting, Administrative Obligations, Cleaning, and Maintenance. Given the significance of maintenance in property management and the common industry complaints related to it, the Maintenance Technician role is crucial. Our aim is to not only resolve maintenance issues efficiently but also to change the perception around landlords (property managers) and maintenance, ensuring that our properties are well-maintained and our residents are satisfied. We are seeking a qualified Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a Maintenance Technician for True North, you will be responsible for performing various maintenance and repair tasks to ensure the smooth operation and communication within our properties. This is a hands-on role that requires strong technical skills, communication, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues efficiently.

Requirements

Drivers license and insured vehicle (We provide mileage reimbursement stipends)
Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 75 lbs)
Basic hand tools for work responsibilities
Ability to work independently and efficiently
Proficiency in English (both written and verbal)
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with staff and external vendors
Experience completing the above referenced job duties
Strong problem-solving skills with a logical approach to troubleshooting
Leadership qualities with the ability to supervise others when required
Ability to Relocate: Alexandria, MN 56308: Relocate before starting work (Required)

Nice To Haves

Property management: 2 years (Preferred)

Boiler License (Preferred)

Responsibilities

Communicate and schedule maintenance with residents and vendors
Conduct routine property inspections to identify any maintenance needs
Perform preventive maintenance tasks
Repair or replace: toilets, tubs, faucets, and related plumbing fixtures
Demo projects such removing existing flooring and sheetrock
Flooring installation projects, Painting Projects, Renovation Projects
Diagnose, repair, or replace appliances
Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner and prioritize tasks based on urgency
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and report any major issues to the supervisor
Assist with facilities maintenance tasks such as painting, carpentry, and landscaping
Supervise and coordinate contractors when approved
Track supply receipts and hours on the job/task at hand: Work with the maintenance department to ensure projects remain on budget
Some weekend availability is required (on-call)
