About The Position

Performs a variety of work connected with the operations, inspections and maintenance of combustion turbine, combined cycle, HRSG, and steam generator sites. Performs varied mechanical, basic electrical and basic control and instrument maintenance activities and other duties necessary to maintain the generation facility to which they are assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED Required
  • 2 years mechanical technical college or equivalency or 4 year experience in mechanical trade or completed apprenticeship; or 2 years of Combustion Turbine maintenance experience
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems

Responsibilities

  • Performs combustion turbine operations, combined cycle, HRSG, steam generator, inspections and maintenance in a safe and efficient manner adhering to all corporate and company guidelines to ensure compliance with all city, state, and federal regulations.
  • Participates in job safety briefings, safety tailgate sessions, safety reviews and safety observations.
  • Observes, operates and initiates repairs to the combustion turbine, combined cycle, HRSG, steam generator and related equipment.
  • Maintain an accurate operating log of all equipment and performs preventive maintenance.
  • Maintains, operates and repairs water treatment systems.
  • Receives and unloads acid and caustic trucks.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs the water treatment systems controls and valves.
  • Maintain optimum water treatment systems performance.
  • Calibrates and repairs recording and indicating instrumentation.
  • Maintains water treatment systems.
  • Performs tests and reports data on waste treatment systems.
  • Maintains performance monitoring and control equipment.
  • Monitors gas and steam turbine performance.
  • Keeps testing records as assigned.
  • Maintains warehouse, orders supplies as needed.
  • Performs regular inspections of gas and steam turbines and auxiliary equipment utilizing Maximo.
  • Participates during overhauls of all related plant equipment.
  • Performs the mechanical and basic electrical and basic instrument and control troubleshooting, maintaining, repairing, cleaning, inspecting and constructing of equipment and systems for the generation facility.
  • Operates and/or obtains information from various mechanical devices used to support specific equipment diagnostics or work activities; gathers, interprets and logs data.
  • Is proficient in the use of machine tools and various hand powered tools as job needs dictate.
  • Performs various welding activities that produce safe and reliable repairs and construction.
  • Operates mobile and heavy equipment to perform maintenance tasks.
  • Performs various welding activities.
  • Supports safety, plant reliability, productivity, and plant efficiency improvements by participating in various continuous improvement activities.
  • Performs all work according to established procedures and safety practices.
  • Performs various generating plant and shop area housekeeping functions.
  • Performs other duties which are similar, related, or incidental to this position.
