About The Position

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine maintenance and inspections within a large plastic injection molding manufacturing environment. This includes completing scheduled preventive maintenance checks and carrying out general maintenance on molding machines, auxiliary equipment, finishing department systems such as booths and conveyor lines, and equipment used by indirect departments. The role also involves maintaining the building and grounds, inspecting fire safety systems, and performing skilled tasks such as fabrication, welding, brazing, soldering, torching, and plumbing. Additionally, the technician assists in training molding staff on plant start-up and shutdown procedures, supports mold (tool) maintenance, builds fixtures and other necessary items, and provides backup assistance with molding set-ups as needed.

Requirements

  • Associate’s or technical degree in Industrial Maintenance.
  • 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in the field.
  • Working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and robotic systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical issues.
  • Capability to read blueprints.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Performing basic math.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Strong manual dexterity.
  • Experience operating a forklift.
  • Basic electrical and hydraulic certifications.
  • Foundational understanding of injection molding processes.
  • Willingness to learn more.
  • Open to working extended hours or overtime.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and a customer-focused mindset.
