About The Position

Solution One is seeking a Maintenance Technician - Lead for our client's West Texas and New Mexico sectors, based in Marfa, Texas. The successful candidate will have outstanding skills and will be committed to working with others to deliver best-in-class, unparalleled excellence in customer service and satisfaction. The Maintenance Technician – Lead is responsible for overseeing daily repair operations and guiding a team of skilled trades technicians enabling the facilities maintenance and repair program supporting United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP) operations in West Texas and New Mexico. This position requires strong organizational skills, meticulous attention-to-detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team setting. Technical skills include manufacturing process equipment, HVAC equipment, utility equipment, and plant mobile equipment.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Completed a vocational or trade school program or equivalent apprenticeship (HVAC, Electrical or Plumbing).
  • At least eight (8) years’ experience performing maintenance duties for contracts of similar size and scope.
  • Demonstrated experience applying ISO, AS9100, or comparable quality standards.
  • Strong interactive skills and strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong ability to focus, prioritize, and multi-task successfully to drive tasks to closure in support of business commitments.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and able to pass a CBP Background Investigation.
  • Experience in large, geographically dispersed, or headquarters-level quality surveillance activities.
  • Must possess a current valid state driver’s license.

  • Demonstrated experience with Defense and aerospace industry experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with IBM® TRIRIGA® Integrated Workplace Management Systems (IWMS).
  • Demonstrated experience with Enterprise Logistics Management System (ELMS).
  • Demonstrated experience with Accountable Property Systems of Record (APSRs).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint).

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, track, and manage electrical and mechanical maintenance activities performed by skilled trade technicians.
  • Decrease equipment downtime through high-level troubleshooting.
  • Provide redundancy coverage in the sector(s).
  • Create and maintain equipment traceability.
  • Apply ISO, AS9100, and other respective quality standards and ensure compliance across all business segments.
  • Apply Solution One policies, procedures, and standards relevant to the respective program and functional organizations.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other tools as necessary for identifying and troubleshooting faults.
  • Interface with Regional Site Supervisors for the creation and implementation of preventive maintenance plans.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of supply chain procedures and policies.
  • Monitor and collaborate with other maintenance trades to ensure service quality.
  • Collaborate with Program Management, Operations Management, and Supply Chain Management to support production flow and program execution in support of CBP operations.
  • Responsible for providing the Government with compliant supplies and services and working with CBP regarding its administration of its Quality Assurance Surveillance Plan.
  • Collaborate with quality management system elements, other support functions, and customers to meet quality, cost, and schedule commitments.
  • Support supplier development and engagement in coordination with Supply Chain Management.
  • Ensure all work complies with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Monitor and manage maintenance control systems.
  • Conduct regular maintenance audits to verify repair status and report discrepancies.
  • Report on maintenance status and supply issues to management.
  • Present monthly report-outs to site and sector management on operations status.
  • Drive corrective and preventive action when performance does not meet defined requirements.
  • Assign daily tasks, mentor technicians, and run safety meetings.
  • Coordinate effectively with CBP stakeholders, contracted workforce, and corporate staff.
  • Provide clear and timely communication regarding environmental requirements, operational issues, and any issue that degrades the operational mission readiness of the customer.
  • Support a collaborative, mission-focused environment that promotes operational excellence.
  • Participate in training and professional development activities.
  • Recommend process improvements that enhance safety, efficiency, accountability, and mission performance.
  • Adhere to ISO 9001:2015 and AS 9100D Quality Standards as directed and/or identified in the Solution One Quality Management System/Plan.
