About The Position

The Maintenance Technician III at Centennial Lakes Park maintains park buildings and grounds and assists with special events and building operations. The position includes inspecting assigned areas, keeping facilities safe and operational, performing cleaning and minor repairs, maintaining the lake and skating rink, and operating equipment for grounds and facility maintenance. Work is approximately 70% outdoors and is subject to varied, weather-dependent hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Two years of general building and grounds maintenance experience.
Valid Minnesota driver's license.
Knowledge of building and custodial maintenance duties.
Ability to safely operate building and grounds maintenance equipment and tools, such as tractors, skid-steer loaders, mowers, aerators, and snow removal equipment.
Ability to make minor repairs to buildings and fixtures.
Ability to work independently and prioritize work requests.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, and to interact tactfully and courteously with the public and City staff.
Ability to lift up to 100 pounds intermittently and 25 pounds occasionally.
Availability for varied, weather-dependent hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.

Nice To Haves

Customer service experience.
Experience working in an outdoor park or facility open to the public.
Availability on Sundays and Mondays, approximately 6 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Responsibilities

Operate equipment for maintenance of grounds and facilities, including snow removal equipment.
Ensure buildings and grounds are operational and safe for daily functions.
Inspect assigned areas and identify issues or safety concerns.
Keep walkways and other areas free of snow, ice, and debris.
Report issues or concerns to the manager.
Clean and maintain buildings and grounds, including floors, windows, restrooms, and trash.
Keep the lake free of trash and organic matter.
Remove snow and resurface the skating rink.
Perform minor repairs and preventative maintenance on buildings and grounds as directed.
Assist with special events and building operations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
