About The Position

The Maintenance Technician II - Centennial Lakes Park is responsible for general maintenance of park buildings and grounds and assisting with special events and building operations. The position helps keep facilities and outdoor areas operational, clean, and safe for daily use, performs minor repairs and preventative maintenance, and supports other duties as assigned. Approximately 70% of the work is outdoors and involves exposure to a variety of weather conditions. Work hours may vary, depend on the weather, and include weekends, evenings, and holidays.

Requirements

Applicants must be at least 16 years of age.
Must have a valid Minnesota driver’s license.
Knowledge of building maintenance and custodial maintenance duties.
Ability to safely operate a variety of building and grounds maintenance equipment and tools, including snow-removal equipment.
Ability to make minor repairs to buildings and fixtures.
Ability to work independently and prioritize work requests.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, and to interact tactfully and courteously with the public and City staff.
Ability to lift up to 100 pounds intermittently and 25 pounds occasionally.

Responsibilities

Operate equipment for maintenance of grounds and facilities, including snow-removal equipment such as shovels and snow blowers.
Ensure buildings and grounds are operational and safe for daily functions.
Inspect assigned areas and identify issues or safety concerns.
Keep walkways and other areas free of snow, ice, and debris.
Report issues or concerns to the manager.
Clean and maintain buildings and grounds, including floors, windows, restrooms, and trash removal.
Keep the lake free of trash and organic matter.
Perform snow removal.
Perform minor repairs and preventative maintenance on buildings and grounds as directed.
Assist with special events and building operations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
