Performs facility and equipment maintenance in accordance with applicable codes and standards. Documents through use of the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). This role requires a proficient level of skill to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical equipment such as motors, pumps, conveyors, doors, fans, boilers, heat exchangers, and controls. Additionally, the technician will maintain, troubleshoot, and repair patient care equipment like beds, wheelchairs, carts, and tables, as well as mechanical/electrical systems including pneumatic tube, HVAC, refrigerators/freezers, ice machines, commercial kitchen equipment, electrical, plumbing, piped medical gas systems, and specialized water systems. The role also involves performing general maintenance functions in grounds maintenance, carpentry, and painting, responding to emergencies, and conducting preventive maintenance and equipment safety checks. The technician will also inspect and repair fire doors, hardware, firewalls, and smoke partitions, and read blueprints and maintenance manuals.
