About The Position

Advanced Drainage Systems is hiring a Maintenance Technician II to perform preventive and reactive maintenance for plant manufacturing operations. The role focuses on completing preventive maintenance schedules, repairing equipment to support maximum production rates, and maintaining an adequate spare parts inventory. The technician troubleshoots and repairs production machinery and controls, coordinates replacement parts with suppliers, contributes to CMMS work order completion, and works with production personnel to support safe, reliable equipment operation. The position also supports company training, daily management initiatives, and continuous improvement projects that improve production efficiency and safety.

Requirements

High school or vocational school diploma, or equivalent.
Ability to lift 50 pounds to a height of 6 feet.
Ability to stand and remain mobile for at least 8 continuous hours.
Ability to perform physical labor for extended periods in temperature extremes.
Ability to handle materials daily using hands, arms, and legs, and to perform a full range of body motions, including twisting, bending, reaching, squatting, and mounting or dismounting industrial equipment and vehicles.
Experience using electrical test equipment such as voltmeters, ammeters, ohm meters, and Meggers.
Understanding of basic machine function and production machinery sequence of operations.
Experience reading electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical drawings.
Knowledge of NEC, UL508A, and NFPA 79 codes; Lock Out Tag Out procedures; and Arc Flash and PPE requirements.
Strong industrial mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and pneumatic skills, including troubleshooting.
Strong leadership, time management, and task prioritization skills.
Knowledge of electrical formulas, mechanical math, three-phase industrial wiring, and power distribution.
AC and DC drive and motor preventive maintenance, wiring, programming, and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to troubleshoot PLC I/O and networking.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working with plant personnel, company resources, and vendors.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word.
Experience with root cause analysis and problem solving.

Nice To Haves

Technician-level knowledge of electrical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
Basic PLC and drive training.
More than 2 years of industrial maintenance, electrical systems, and controls experience.
Knowledge of plastic processing.
Motion training with servo drives and motors.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and repair machines and controls, including extruders, corrugators, extrusion dies, AC/DC motors and drives, downstream equipment, and chillers.
Maintain and develop job skills through company training programs.
Contact suppliers, specify replacement parts and control components, and place orders as needed.
Complete preventive maintenance and repair work orders promptly in the CMMS and ensure compliance.
Respond first to machine troubleshooting problems and contact Electrical Engineering for additional support when needed.
Support Daily Management directives and initiatives.
Help develop and implement continuous improvement projects to improve production efficiency and safety.
Work with Production Staff to ensure safe and reliable operation of plant equipment.
