About The Position

Advanced Drainage Systems is hiring a Maintenance Technician II to perform preventive and reactive maintenance for plant manufacturing operations. The role focuses on completing preventive maintenance schedules, repairing equipment to maintain production rates, and keeping an adequate spare-parts inventory. The technician troubleshoots and repairs production machinery and controls, contributes to maintenance work-order and compliance processes, and works with production staff to support safe, reliable plant operations. The position also supports training, daily management initiatives, and continuous improvement projects that improve production efficiency and safety.

Requirements

High school or vocational school diploma, or equivalent.
Ability to lift 50 pounds to a height of 6 feet.
Ability to stand and remain mobile for at least 8 continuous hours.
Ability to perform physical labor for extended periods in temperature extremes.
Ability to handle materials daily using hands, arms, and legs.
Full range of body motion, including twisting, bending, reaching, squatting, and mounting and dismounting industrial equipment and vehicles.
Experience using electrical test equipment such as voltmeters, ammeters, ohm meters, and Meggers.
Understanding of basic machine function and production machinery sequence of operations.
Experience reading electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical drawings.
Knowledge of NEC, UL508A, and NFPA 79 codes.
Knowledge of Lock Out Tag Out safety procedures and arc-flash and PPE requirements.
Strong industrial mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and pneumatic skills, including troubleshooting.
Strong leadership, time-management, and task-prioritization skills.
Strong knowledge of electrical formulas and mechanical math.
Knowledge of three-phase industrial wiring and power distribution.
Ability to perform preventive maintenance, wiring, programming, and troubleshooting on AC/DC drives and motors.
Ability to troubleshoot PLC I/O and networking.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working with plant personnel, company resources, and vendors.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word.
Experience in root-cause analysis and problem solving.

Nice To Haves

Technician-level electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic skills.
Basic PLC and drive training.
More than 2 years of experience in industrial maintenance, electrical systems, and controls.
Knowledge of plastic processing.
Motion training with servo drives and motors.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and repair machines and their controls, including extruders, corrugators, extrusion dies, AC/DC motors and drives, downstream equipment, and chillers.
Maintain and develop job skills through company training programs.
Contact suppliers to specify and order replacement parts and control components as needed.
Complete preventive maintenance and repair work orders promptly in the CMMS and ensure compliance.
Act as the first responder to machine problems and contact Electrical Engineering for additional support when needed.
Support Daily Management directives and initiatives.
Help develop and implement continuous improvement projects to improve production efficiency and safety.
Work with production staff to ensure plant equipment operates safely and reliably.
