Ensures optimal functioning of all equipment and machinery while performing corrective and preventative maintenance, installs new equipment and verifies functionality, troubleshoots breakdowns and makes emergency repairs under the direction of the Senior Maintenance Tech Supervisor. The role involves manual cleaning, dismantling, replacing, and repairing of defective machines or electrical/electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, or pneumatic components. It requires locating malfunctions through observation and test instruments, performing preventative maintenance, and installing/repairing automated machinery. The technician will also operate metalworking tools, inspect parts, use cutting torch or welding equipment, and read blueprints and schematics. Responsibilities include using equipment like forklifts and hoists, maintaining tools and work areas, potentially liaising with vendors, and ensuring reliable attendance. Safety procedures, PPE usage, and participation in safety meetings are mandatory. The role requires effective teamwork, accountability, adherence to quality standards, and understanding of company culture and values. The technician will contribute to achieving department KPIs and perform other duties as needed.
