About The Position

Novo Nordisk is seeking a Maintenance Technician I to improve systems and equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and support operations for assigned processes. This role is crucial for maintaining the functionality of pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities, specifically the Emerging Technologies - Solid Dosage Forms US facility in Durham, NC, which produces oral treatments for type 2 diabetes. The technician will follow all safety and environmental requirements, interpret technical data, and document maintenance activities in SAP. They will also collaborate with process owners, engineers, and manufacturing personnel to troubleshoot and improve equipment performance. The position offers opportunities for growth and development within the maintenance team.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in relevant field or equivalent military/industry training, which includes a thorough understanding of mechanical, electrical & control systems required
  • Minimum of one (1) year of relevant work experience required

Nice To Haves

  • Regulated industry & solid dose manufacturing experience preferred
  • Ability to read, write & understand technical documentation, SOP’s, Maintenance Plans, PM’s, work orders preferred
  • Understanding of schematics, wiring diagrams, P&IDs & other technical documentation preferred
  • Computer literacy preferred
  • Experience with automated record systems such as SAP preferred
  • Experience in planning/organizing work, managing execution, checking results & revising the work plan in accordance with the daily work plan a plus

Responsibilities

  • Follow all safety & environmental requirements in the performance of duties
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures in performance of assigned duties
  • Support the development & establishment of maintenance procedures, maintenance plans & spare parts lists for processes assigned
  • Perform corrective & preventative maintenance on assigned process in a timely manner
  • Interpret mechanical & electrical specifications, drawings & other technical data sheets
  • Work rotating shifts, night shifts, extended shifts and/or weekends
  • Ensure all maintenance activities are correctly documented in SAP
  • Partner with process owners to actively improve performance & reliability of process equipment
  • Contribute to growth & development of the maintenance team by training fellow technicians in areas of expertise, as well as learning new systems
  • Use Systematic Problem Solving (SPS) tools to establish Root Cause Analysis & resolve equipment issues
  • Suggest practical changes or improvements to equipment & department work practices
  • Collaborate with Responsible Engineers & Manufacturing personnel to troubleshoot equipment problems
  • Other accountabilities, as assigned.
