About The Position

The Maintenance Technician I is responsible for the overall maintenance of structures and grounds at Osage Nation Senior Housing properties. The role also performs miscellaneous hand-labor tasks related to developing and maintaining tribal lands and structures. Duties include maintaining the plumbing and electrical components of Tribal buildings.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of maintenance and/or construction experience required.
• Must be able to work all hours, shifts, and service calls as needed.
• Knowledge of and ability to safely operate tractors, brush hogs, backhoes, forklifts, and other equipment used by maintenance staff.
• Ability to lift at least 30 pounds and drag or pull at least 100 pounds.
• Ability to stand, lift, bend, and climb ladders.
• High level of personal integrity and ethics.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Willingness and ability to learn new skills, including travel to conferences and training sessions.
• Good interpersonal communication and teamwork skills.
• Maintain a professional attitude and appearance that positively represents the Nation.
• Maintain confidentiality at all times.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite programs.
• Must pass a criminal background check and drug/alcohol testing.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record; may be required to drive a GSA or tribal vehicle.

Nice To Haves

• Associate’s degree in any field preferred.
• Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing training certifications preferred.
