About The Position

Pillar Properties has an exciting opportunity available for a Maintenance Technician I to join our team at The Lex, our beautiful property in Tacoma, WA! The Maintenance Technician I is responsible for assisting in the physical upkeep and maintenance of both the interior and exterior building(s) and surrounding property.

Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office 365
Ability to effectively communicate in both verbal and written form with residents, employees, and vendors
Ability to work a flexible schedule with regular and timely attendance
Must have own hand tools
Basic prep and painting abilities
Results-driven focus and approach
Strong customer services skills
Adaptable with ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Strong sense of integrity and ethics

Responsibilities

Maintain all apartments and common areas with preventative maintenance as the goal
Complete all written work orders assigned in a timely manner
Assist with plumbing (e.g., sinks, toilets, and bathtubs)
Assist with minor electrical work within units and in common areas (e.g., light switches, wall outlets, garbage disposals, etc.)
Paint apartments and majority of common areas
Assist with training and development of safety procedures and hazard communications
Respond to all community emergencies as requested
Travel as assigned between local properties, if applicable
Other duties as assigned
