About The Position
McGill Environmental Systems is hiring a Maintenance Technician I for our Morrisville, PA facility. This position is ideal for someone with strong heavy equipment maintenance experience, particularly on Front-End Loaders, who enjoys hands-on troubleshooting, repairs, and supporting production operations. As a Maintenance Technician I, you'll help keep our operation running by maintaining and repairing the heavy equipment and production systems that support compost manufacturing. We're specifically looking for candidates with experience working on Front-End Loaders and similar heavy equipment. While diesel truck experience is helpful, the primary focus of this role is maintaining and troubleshooting the equipment used in daily production operations. Candidates who have experience both maintaining and operating loaders are especially valuable, as there may be opportunities to assist with equipment operation when production needs require additional support.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Strong experience maintaining and repairing Front-End Loaders
- Experience troubleshooting hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems on heavy equipment
- Mechanical aptitude and strong hands-on troubleshooting skills
- Ability to perform maintenance and repairs with minimal supervision
- Ability to work outdoors and in industrial environments
- Reliable transportation to the Morrisville, PA facility
- Strong attendance and work ethic
Nice To Haves
- Experience operating Front-End Loaders and other heavy equipment
- Experience in composting, recycling, construction, agriculture, material handling, or industrial operations
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs
- Ability to assist with equipment operation as needed to support production
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance and repairs on Front-End Loaders and other heavy equipment
- Assist with preventive maintenance activities on conveyors, screens, grinders, and production equipment
- Troubleshoot hydraulic, mechanical, and basic electrical issues
- Conduct equipment inspections and identify potential problems before failures occur
- Report equipment issues and safety concerns promptly
- Maintain organization of tools, parts, and maintenance areas
- Support senior technicians with repairs and maintenance projects
- Follow all company safety procedures and equipment protocols
- Perform additional maintenance-related duties as assigned
