About The Position

Performs preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment and systems (e.g., mechanical, electrical). Evaluates and recommends equipment improvements to improve availability, capability and yield. Performs equipment failure analyses (including preventive and unscheduled maintenance). Troubleshoots and diagnoses equipment problems. Prepares technical reports to document equipment modifications and equipment maintenance procedures. This role acquires basic skills to perform routine tasks, develops understanding in an analytical or scientific method or operational process, works with close supervision, and performs manual tasks according to established procedures. The position is Safety-Sensitive.

Requirements

  • Attending a Vocational / Technical School or internal training program OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education & Experience or Skillset
  • No prior experience needed
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
  • Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.
  • May need to stand for long periods of time.
  • Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with preventive maintenance and skilled repairs on electrical and mechanical production equipment and systems.
  • Follow standard procedures to monitor equipment for performance, safety, and effectiveness.
  • Assists with performing equipment failure analysis to complete preventive and unscheduled maintenance.
  • Supports with troubleshooting and diagnosing equipment problems.
  • Logs equipment modifications and maintenance details in the designated system.
  • Follows prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintains quality standards.
