About The Position

The Maintenance Technician I performs necessary minor repairs and preventive maintenance on rental units as they become vacant at an 80-unit multifamily affordable housing community in Waipahu, Hawaii. The position may also assist with painting interior units, office areas, and laundry rooms, as well as maintaining common areas. Turnover units must be detailed and completed within five days.

Requirements

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
At least one year of related apartment maintenance experience.
Knowledge and skills in plumbing, electrical work, and general maintenance.
CADL, clean DMV record, and reliable transportation.
Basic computer knowledge.

Responsibilities

Perform basic plumbing repairs, including toilets, faucets, and minor pipe repairs.
Prepare surfaces, sand, and color-match for painting.
Perform electrical repairs involving light switches, cords, ballasts, bulbs, and circuit breakers.
Replace or adjust locks; install bolts; and repair window locks, latches, and keys.
Repair or replace screen doors and perform sheetrock repairs when needed.
Detail turnover units and complete the work within five days.
Perform minor repairs and preventive maintenance on rental units as they become vacant.
Assist with painting interior units, office areas, and laundry rooms, and with common-area maintenance.
