Maintenance Technician I
About The Position
The Mechanic I is an entry-level position responsible for performing basic maintenance and repair tasks to ensure reliable operation of plant facilities and equipment. This role supports preventative maintenance activities and assists senior mechanics and technicians in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
Nice To Haves
- 1–2 years of maintenance or mechanical experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and minor repairs on machinery, tools, and building systems.
- Assist with preventative maintenance schedules to reduce equipment downtime.
- Replace and adjust belts, filters, fluids, and worn parts as directed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, tools, and equipment.
- Document maintenance activities and report equipment issues to supervisors.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
