Maintenance Technician - Electrical (METTS)
About The Position
The Maintenance Technician - Electrical position supports our NAS A customer on the Marshall Engineering Technicians and Trades Support contract (METTS). This position is responsible for maintaining and repairing mechanical components for CNC Machines, Mills, Lathes etc within a large machine shop. They will install, repair, rebuild, and maintain in efficient operating condition a wide variety of machines. They will work on the repairs and maintenance for the machines in a large machine shop that includes 3 phase electricity and high voltage. This position may require occasional overtime and may include second or third shift support for 24/7 onsite or on-call support based on customer needs and contract requirements.
Requirements
- In general, the work of a Maintenance Technician - Mechanic requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.

Responsibilities
- Examining machines and mechanical equipment to diagnose source of trouble
- Dismantling or partly dismantling machines and performing repairs that mainly involve the use of hand tools in scraping and fitting parts
- Reading and interpreting electrical documentation
- Troubleshooting electrical systems and controls
- Preventive and predictive electrical maintenance
- Installing and maintaining electrical equipment
- Communicating specifications for major repairs or parts that are needed
- Cleaning machines, maintaining shop areas, organizing parts and tools, and supporting installation of new equipment from a mechanical standpoint
