About The Position

The Maintenance/Electrical Technician is responsible for identifying, troubleshooting, repairing, and fabricating hydraulic and electrical systems, including motor controls. This role also involves fabricating and repairing metal structures using welding and torch equipment, maintaining building systems, and programming/troubleshooting PLC computers. The technician will train operators on machine maintenance and inspection, order repair parts, and utilize basic computer skills for maintenance databases and SAP. A key aspect of the role is ensuring all tasks are performed safely and reading blueprints/schematics. The position also covers pneumatic machines/systems and requires basic computer proficiency.

Requirements

  • Able to communicate with manager/supervisor and understand instructions.
  • Able to communicate with fellow employees while on a job.
  • Able to read a Maintenance work order and/or fill out a maintenance work order.
  • Ability to add, subtract, and multiply fractions.
  • Ability to use a calculator for all aspects of math functions.
  • Proficient with a protractor.
  • Able to isolate mechanical (including pneumatic/hydraulic) and basic electrical problems and repair them within a reasonable amount of time.
  • Basic computer skills, including Windows, Word Processing, and spreadsheets.
  • Familiarity with MPS System (Maintenance database software) and SAP.

Responsibilities

  • Trains operators and/or supervisors in the proper maintenance and inspection of machines.
  • Orders repair and spare parts for machines.
  • Uses basic computer skills, including Windows, Word Processing, spreadsheets, and Maintenance database software (MPS System) and SAP.
  • Cleans area, tools, and maintenance shop.
  • Performs all requirements safely.
  • Reads blueprints/schematics.
  • Identifies, troubleshoots, repairs, and fabricates pneumatic machines/systems.
