About The Position

This maintenance position provides mechanical repairs, preventative maintenance and reliability improvements in a chemical manufacturing facility, in compliance with applicable national and regional codes, standards and regulations. The mission of the Maintenance Department is to maintain & improve plant reliability by ensuring these services are performed safely, efficiently, accurately, and in a cost-effective manner.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of Industrial electrical/maintenance experience
  • Interpret and work from hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical schematics, including PLC ladder diagrams.
  • Perform electrical work, including wiring, voltage testing, and understanding arc flash hazards and power factors.
  • Communicate clearly with cross-functional teams and maintain accurate maintenance records using a computerized system.
  • Experience with Troubleshoot PLCs and AC, DC Drives.
  • Experience with automation innovation and implantation.
  • Able to read mechanical drawings/diagrams
  • Experienced with mechanical tools and measuring devices
  • Basic computer software and hardware familiarity
  • Skilled in basic mathematics including first level algebra
  • Good communication skills
  • High commitment to the craft, willing to learn and accept new challenges
  • Self-starter and capable of leading formal or informal work groups
  • Knowledge of various hand and power tools and their use; perform under adverse conditions such as heavy lifting, cramped working conditions, extremes in weather conditions, confined spaces, elevated heights and noisy areas; contribute to a team setting maintaining high quality of work and good housekeeping standards; math and measurement skills;
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen, physical and background check

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree in mechanical maintenance field is preferred
  • 5+ years of hands-on mechanical industrial maintenance experience in chemical or oil refining industry also preferred

Responsibilities

  • Use proactive Hazard Recognition techniques to work safely at all times and actively support the plant safety processes.
  • Know and follow plant policies and procedures.
  • Be available to work overtime, off hour call-outs and duty weeks.
  • Fulfill plant and department qualification requirements and continuously develop new skills.
  • Use computer systems to retrieve information and report maintenance work performed.
  • Use precision measurement tools.
  • Use the proper rigging techniques and proper signaling for lifting heavy loads.
  • Have strong analytical skills to systematically troubleshoot and repair rotating and reciprocating process equipment.
  • Repair various pieces of stationary equipment (pipe/valves/fittings, vessels, etc.)
  • General knowledge of centrifugal and positive displacement pumps, gear reducers, centrifugal and reciprocating compressors, hydraulics and piping systems is preferred.
  • Proficiency with mechanical equipment alignment techniques and tools.
  • Complete layout and fabrication of piping and tubing. Repair or replace valves and fittings and properly disassemble and assemble.
  • Become qualified and safely operate rolling equipment (Crane, Fork Truck, etc.) as needed.
