About The Position

This position is responsible for providing emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performing scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service. The role involves diagnosing problems, replacing or repairing parts, and testing and adjusting equipment as needed. The technician will use a variety of tools and equipment, read manuals and work orders, and troubleshoot and repair electrical and electronic systems, including Allen Bradley products, PLC programming, and IDEC touch screens. Responsibilities also include installation and repair of electrical components, maintenance of various systems (AC/DC, electrical/air control, air and plumbing, water/honey pumps), performing preventive maintenance, and various plumbing, carpentry, and machinist duties. Tig welding on thin wall stainless steel tubing is also required. The role requires availability for emergency call-backs and a willingness to learn new skills to oversee the maintenance of the production facility. All other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager and/or Assistant Plant Manager are also part of the role.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, write legibly, and speak English.
  • Good work ethic.
  • History of excellent attendance record.
  • Computer skills required.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Ability to communicate and work well with others.

Responsibilities

  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
  • Diagnose problems, replace, or repair parts, tests and adjust equipment as needed.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Troubleshoot and repair Allen Bradley products and program A & B PLC., and program IDEC touch screens.
  • Installation and repairs of all electrical components and associated wiring including low voltage systems installation and maintenance.
  • Maintain complicated electrical and electronic systems and equipment used in various processes including but not limited to: electrical AC/DC, electrical/air control, air and plumbing, water/honey pumps.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities.
  • Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
  • Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities.
  • Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting, and repair of production machines.
  • Perform tig welding on thin wall stainless steel tubing.
  • Be available for Emergency call-back.
  • Be willing to learn additional skills as necessary to oversee the maintenance of the production facility.
  • Perform all other duties needed or assigned by the Plant Manager and/or Assistant Plant Manager.
