Requirements

  • Completion of an apprenticeship program, military training, or other related training, and a minimum of 5 years related experience that demonstrates advanced problem-solving skills in electrical work. (Tech 2)
  • Completion of an apprenticeship program, military training, or other related training, and a minimum of 7 years related experience that demonstrates advanced problem-solving skills in electrical work. (Tech 3)
  • Demonstrated ability to read, understand and successfully modify electrical drawings. (Tech 3)
  • A high school diploma/GED.
  • Must have electromechanical aptitude and some prior experience working with high voltage AC, PLC’s, MCC’s, control circuitry and wiring, and instrumentation.
  • Must have basic computer skills and some experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Must be a self-starter, be able to work with minimum supervision, be a neat well-organized individual, and have good communications skills.
  • Must be able to perform manual labor and be willing and able to work in adverse weather conditions.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of National Electrical Code preferred.
  • Should have some exposure to instrumentation and calibration.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, install, maintain, and repair water treatment plants, elevated tanks, water pump stations, and distribution equipment.
  • Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment.
  • Recommend solutions to problems both short term and long term.
  • Dismantle equipment and install new or repaired parts.
  • Tests parts and equipment to determine their performance.
  • Lubricates and cleans parts.
  • Requisition parts and equipment within scope of authority.
  • Initiates purchase orders for parts and equipment.
  • Keep accurate records and notes on repairs.
  • Use of hand tools and power tools are required to perform maintenance and repair work.
  • Ensure that tools and equipment are properly maintained and stored.
  • Perform general cleaning as needed for a safe work environment.
  • Know and follow all safety guidelines when working in the plant and with chemicals.
  • Follow all recommendations for safe operating of tools and equipment.
  • Work as a team member and cooperate with others on group projects.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, co- workers, and management.
  • Know and uphold the policies, procedures and philosophies of Del-Co Water Co., Inc.
  • Must be available for emergencies, scheduled off-shift work, and “call outs”.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Perform training / supervision as needed to complete work assignments. (Tech 3 additional)
  • Assists Asset Management Coordinator reviewing PM tasks and recommends adjustments in tasks to properly maintain assets. (Tech 3 additional)
