About The Position

The Maintenance Tech will be responsible for receiving daily work assignments from the Director of Engineering, organizing materials, tools, and equipment to perform daily assignments, and maintaining timelines and work schedules in accordance with the preventive maintenance program. This role involves checking work orders and maintenance reports, making rounds to identify problem areas, and ensuring the proper use, cleaning, maintenance, and storage of all tools and supplies. The position also requires maintaining cleanliness and organization of work areas, handling chemicals according to hotel requirements (OSHA), ensuring the security of assigned keys and beepers, and completing room preventative maintenance for assigned guest rooms. The Maintenance Tech will respond to guest maintenance and service requests in a timely and professional manner, maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all hotel and departmental policies and procedures, and complete all paperwork and closing duties. This role also involves carrying out supervisor requests in accordance with hotel policies and standard operating procedures, following service standards, operating procedures, and safety standards, and working cohesively with co-workers and all departments as part of a team. Additional cleanliness or guest services duties may be assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years experience in maintenance, facilities or engineering.
  • Must be able to prioritize and work efficiently with limited supervision.
  • Must be detail oriented and able to multi-task efficiently.
  • Must be able to speak and understand and communicate the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
  • Requires effective communication skills.
  • Must have the ability to bend, squat and lift up to 100 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill painting and engineering tasks.
  • Ability to push, pull, grasp, lift or carry supplies, equipment or tools weighting up to 100 lbs. occasionally.

Responsibilities

  • Receive daily work assignments from Director of Engineer and review priorities and special projects.
  • Organize materials, tools and equipment to perform daily assignments.
  • Maintain time lines and work schedule in accordance with the preventive maintenance program.
  • Check work orders and maintenance report for any problems.
  • Make rounds checking these problem areas; note any touch-up needs or/and safety concerns in the hotel.
  • Maintain for the proper use, cleaning, maintenance and storage of all tools, (i.e. brushes, rollers, paint sprayers, trays, ladders, scaffolds, etc.) and supplies.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work areas
  • Handle chemicals according to hotel requirements (OSHA).
  • Ensure security of any assigned keys and beeper.
  • Complete room preventative maintenance for assigned guest rooms.
  • Respond to guest maintenance and service request in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain complete knowledge and comply with all hotel and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Complete all paperwork and closing duties before leaving and review status of assignments and any follow-up actions with the Ability to push, pull, grasp, lift or carry supplies, equipment or tools weighting up to 100 lbs. occasionally.
  • Carries out supervisor requests in accordance with hotel policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Follow 4 Keys service standards, standard operation procedures, and safety standards.
  • Follow all appropriate policies and procedure while constantly striving to improve all standards of operations.
