About The Position

The Maintenance Technician assists in maintaining the grounds, facility, and equipment in a safe and efficient manner. This is a temporary, full-time position in the Environmental Services (EVS) department at Porter Hills Village in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., for 40 hours per week.

Requirements

• Four years of experience in a maintenance position.
• Knowledge of boilers, compressors, generators, air conditioning, pneumatic building ventilation controls, and various mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Computer experience.
• High school diploma.
• Valid, unrestricted State of Michigan driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on the facility and equipment, including plumbing, plastering, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical work.
• Clean and maintain HVAC systems, plumbing fixtures, electrical systems, and other infrastructure.
• Coordinate daily maintenance services with the departments involved when performing routine assignments.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repairs.
