About The Position

As Maintenance Technician II, you will be responsible for safely repairing and maintaining industrial machinery, equipment, and electrical devices for a multi-line food manufacturing facility that operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You will be responsible for keeping lines running, maintaining the equipment, and improving upon existing processes.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in Industrial Maintenance is highly desired.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of maintenance experience with food manufacturing a plus or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have extensive experience and familiarity with electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Must be able to troubleshoot these systems and change components as required to repair inoperative equipment and return them to serviceable condition.
  • PLC and HVAC knowledge is highly desired
  • Ability to perform Preventative Maintenance such as lubricating, inspecting, and evaluating equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with fellow maintenance employees and members of other departments.
  • Must understand and follow OSHA regulations as they pertain to all aspects of maintenance e.g. Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Confined Space, Working at Heights, etc.
  • Must have basic computer skills, be familiar with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to add, subtract multiply and divide
  • Possess and utilizes personal tool set

Responsibilities

  • Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.
  • Performs preventative maintenance, lubricates shafts, bearing, gears and other parts of machinery.
  • Installs and repairs electrical apparatus, such as wiring, electrical components.
  • Installs and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment. Repairs and replaces gauges, valves, and pressure regulators.
  • Repairs and maintains physical structure of establishment.
  • Operates cutting torch or welding equipment.
  • Repairs forklifts as needed.
  • Fabricates and repairs new or used equipment or machines.
  • Works safely and fosters a culture of safety
  • Works closely with other departments to maintain an efficient operation
  • Asks questions to fully understand expectations. Follows up with management staff members to ensure alignment when needed.
  • Assures that all repairs and preventative maintenance are done in compliance with GMP’s, IFS standards and SOP’s to ensure food safety.
  • Assists the Quality and Production teams in troubleshooting maintenance issues that may impact food safety or personnel safety.
  • Logging work hours in CMMS system
  • Answers floor calls to investigate and resolve issues. Communicates with Lead/Supervisor if the issue cannot be resolved in a timely manner.
  • Addresses issues as they arise and responds to team members in a timely manner.
  • Other duties as assigned
