About The Position

The Maintenance Technician will ensure robust operation of equipment through preventative maintenance and continuous improvement. This role is responsible for performing general maintenance of all equipment, assisting in the implementation of new equipment and equipment improvements, and performing thorough work and follow-through on repairs. The technician will communicate with other maintenance personnel and line workers to solve equipment issues and perform sustainable solutions. This role requires the ability to diagnose failed components and safely work on voltages up to 480V, and proficiency in using a digital voltmeter (DVM). The technician will also coordinate equipment updates and operational issues with off-shift maintenance personnel and other team members. Knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, and safety controllers is important for improving plant automation. The role also involves attending outside training and seminars for continual education. A hands-on skill test is required.

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years relevant experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Intermediate to advanced mechanical skills inclusive of rebuilding equipment components
  • Experience with performing preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Basic understanding of facility equipment in support of facility engineer.
  • Basic electrical troubleshooting on 480V and below.
  • Basic PLC troubleshooting. No programming required.
  • Ability to read and apply electrical and mechanical schematics.
  • Ability to pass Hands on Skills test

Responsibilities

  • Performing general maintenance of all equipment.
  • Assisting in the implementation of new equipment and equipment improvements.
  • Performing thorough work and follow-through on the repairs through feedback from internal customers.
  • Communicate with other maintenance personnel and line workers to solve equipment issues and perform sustainable solutions.
  • Diagnose failed components and safely work on voltages up to 480V.
  • Properly use a digital voltmeter (DVM).
  • Continually coordinate equipment updates, and operational issues with off shift maintenance personnel and other team members as needed.
  • Improve overall plant automation efforts using knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, safety controllers, etc.
  • Attend outside training and seminars for continual education.
