Maintenance Tech I - Meridian
About The Position
This role involves performing basic plant maintenance, repair, and installation tasks. The technician will be responsible for repairing and maintaining machinery, mechanical, and electrical equipment, troubleshooting equipment breakdown problems, and inspecting, testing, and operating machinery and equipment before releasing it to manufacturing. Duties include replacing electrical components, motors, installing belts, tightening nuts and bolts, adjusting and aligning rolls and rollers, and replacing defective parts. The position requires the use of various hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment. The technician must also detect faulty operations, defective material, and report unusual situations to supervision. Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing AC and DC motors and controls are key responsibilities. Adherence to safety guidelines is mandatory, and other duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma/GED
- Completion of a craft apprenticeship or craft training program.
- Knowledge of tools, materials, methods and practices used in mechanical maintenance related to production equipment.
- Ability to operate power and manual tools.
- Ability to operate light and heavy equipment.
- Ability to work 12 hours shifts in a continuous manufacturing operation.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic schematics.
- Ability to utilize electrical testing equipment (Meters and meggers).
Responsibilities
- Perform basic plant maintenance, repair and installation tasks.
- Repair and maintain machinery, mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Troubleshoot equipment breakdown problems.
- Inspect, test and operate machinery and equipment prior to releasing to manufacturing.
- Replace electrical components, motors, install belts, tighten nuts and bolts, adjust and align rolls and rollers, replace defective parts.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
- Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair work on AC and DC motors and controls.
- Adheres to Fiberon's safety guidelines.
- Other duties may be assigned.
