About The Position

Performs electrical and mechanical up-keep and repairs to facilities buildings and equipment. Troubleshoots, diagnoses and makes necessary repairs. Must be able to operate overhead cranes, milling machine, lathe, forklifts, manlifts and perform cutting and welding as needed. Work closely with facilities groups in all aspects of the job. Assists in setting up and maintaining an ongoing preventive maintenance program for the facility. Maintains an organized, safe and clean work area.

Requirements

  • Must be able to read and interpret written and oral instructions to perform assigned duties and provide accurate paperwork and work orders.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and within time constraints.
  • Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.
  • Must be proficient in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and repair.
  • Must be able to work at heights up to 60 feet using aerial equipment.
  • 3+ years of previous experience in maintaining plant equipment.
  • Experience performing mechanical and electrical repairs for different varieties of machines.
  • Trade school training or equivalent work experience with a stable work history required.

  • Basic computer skills preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Carries tools and equipment to and from storage and working areas.
  • Assist in dismantling and moving machines or equipment.
  • Clean machines to prepare surfaces for repair.
  • Oil and grease various machinery to include maintaining and checking oil levels in all plant equipment including forklifts and overhead cranes.
  • Clean work areas, tools and equipment to include general grounds maintenance (changing light bulbs, replacing air hoses for air tools, disposing broken pallets, removal of metal shavings, emptying trash cans, etc.
  • Operate oil vacuum to remove used lubrication oils from machines.
  • Operate overhead cranes to repair equipment as needed.
  • Fabricate equipment using drawings or schematics, using various measuring devices i.e. (tape measure, calipers or micrometers). grinders, cutting torches, plasma cutters and various welding equipment.
  • Use a forklift or manlift to assist in daily maintenance tasks.
  • Use electrical meters i.e. (voltage detectors, megger, LCR and oscilloscope) to troubleshoot and repair equipment from 12 volts DC to 480 volts AC.
  • Adhere to the Company’s ISO Quality Program and procedures, Company policies and Safety and Environmental Regulations.
  • May perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
