Requirements

  • Thorough technical knowledge in the field of industrial maintenance, including relevant regulations, standards and codes.
  • Ability to read and understand complex diagrams.
  • Capable of MOS leadership skills combined with team player attitude.
  • Thorough understanding of engineering principles and maintenance practices.
  • Ability to read and understand complex piping diagrams and mechanical drawings.
  • Objective judgment and fact-based decision-making approach.
  • Strong multi-tasking competency.
  • Interprovincial Journeyman License
  • 5 years production/line machine maintenance experience

Nice To Haves

  • Millwright/Electrician (Dual Ticket an asset)
  • Line maintenance within a food and beverage production environment preferred

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all health and safety policies/procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE) while in the warehouse or production areas.
  • Responsible to adhere to food quality and food safety as per quality standards and/or Safe Quality Food requirements.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical/electronic equipment, providing measurable improvements and enhancements to systems.
  • Plans and performs complex corrective and preventative maintenance requiring a thorough knowledge of mechanical theories and principles.
  • Understands and baselines the current state of work order planning and scheduling, including cost implications (materials, resources, time).
  • Masters the CMMS system (e.g., SAP-PM) for plant operations, including system reporting and work order systems and methods, identifying gaps and developing improvement plans.
  • Improves communication and effectiveness of work order completion rates, reduces backlog, and establishes prioritized work orders with improved methods and procedures.
  • Optimizes and effectively accomplishes all work and work orders (from breakdown to condition-based) and leads the development of rules and controls for planning and scheduling.
  • Contributes to measurable improvements in scheduled, unscheduled, and breakdown maintenance related downtime and associated costs to support CPC (cost per case) goals, sharing best practices across the enterprise.
  • Completes all daily documentation, including daily log, downtime detail report, completed work orders, completed PMs, inventory issue slips, material requisitions, and Maintenance Work Requests (MWRs).
