About The Position

Edgewood Properties is seeking a Porter for its multifamily portfolio. This full-time position is based at The Lofts at Gloucester in Blackwood, New Jersey. The Porter helps maintain the community’s leasing office, model apartments, interior common areas, grounds, and building exteriors; assists with preparing vacant apartments for rent; performs assigned service requests and repairs; and supports residents while maintaining company service, safety, and compliance standards. The work schedule is based on business needs and may change.

Requirements

Ability to identify cleaning and chemical supplies.
Ability to perform basic arithmetic, including measurement, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, for basic calculations and analysis.
Ability to occasionally operate general office equipment, including a personal computer, telephone, photocopier, fax machine, and postage machine.
Ability to frequently use general maintenance tools, supplies, and equipment, including hand tools, pressure washers, blowers, paint equipment, pool chemicals, ice-removal equipment, ladders, landscaping equipment, sandblasters, and safety equipment.
Ability to frequently handle and use chemicals and general cleaning supplies.
Ability to frequently transport up to 60 pounds over variable distances, use required equipment, and access and work in restricted spaces or at heights exceeding 8–9 feet.
Ability to frequently operate motorized vehicles such as a car, truck, van, or golf cart.
Ability to frequently stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and climb stairs or ladders.
Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance.

Responsibilities

Keep the leasing office, model apartments, and interior public and common areas neat, clean, and attractive.
Maintain grounds, sidewalks, public walkways, stairways, building exteriors, and garden areas in a neat, clean, and attractive condition.
Assist in preparing vacant apartments for rent in a timely manner and perform turnkey work as required.
Compact and remove trash and debris from community areas.
Complete assigned service requests and repairs promptly and in accordance with company operating, equipment, and supply standards.
Maintain company customer service standards; respond to resident requests, work with residents to minimize or resolve problems and complaints, and follow through to ensure resolution.
Follow applicable company policies and procedures, including operating and safety standards.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, including Fair Housing regulations.
Complete other tasks or duties assigned by the supervisor.
Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to the required dress code.
