About The Position

The Apartment Service Technician at WPM responds to maintenance repair requests, performs preventative maintenance, and prepares apartments for new residents moving in. The position is at Lofts at Yard 56 in Baltimore, Maryland. The regular schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with a rotating on-call schedule for after-hours emergencies, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. The starting hourly rate is $23 or more, plus a phone allowance.

Requirements

Demonstrated plumbing, electrical, or carpentry skills.
Availability for on-call emergency coverage during evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Valid driver's license; a vehicle and travel are required.
Ability to troubleshoot minor electrical problems in various types of fixtures and equipment.
Ability to work on ladders and lift to a height of up to 85 feet.
High school diploma or equivalent.
1–2 years of on-site maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

Respond to maintenance repair requests.
Perform preventative maintenance.
Prepare units for new residents moving in.
Troubleshoot and maintain HVAC systems.
Hang, prep, and sand drywall.
Perform electrical repairs.
Maintain and repair appliances.
Perform plumbing work.
Paint common areas and apartments.
Maintain cleanliness, order, and safety on the property's grounds.
Assist with snow removal.
Participate in a rotating on-call schedule for evening, weekend, and holiday emergency coverage.
