About The Position

Eaton’s AER FED Fluid Electrical Distribution division is currently seeking a Maintenance Team Leader to join our team in Torrance, CA! The core hours are 6 am - 2:30 pm. The hourly rate for this position is $35.09 per hour. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. The Maintenance Team Leaders specializes in either facilities and mechanical maintenance throughout the plant. This can include inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and modifying mechanical equipment in the plant.

Requirements

  • Completion of a Technical Diploma in a related field from an accredited institution or equivalent work experience (1-2 years).
  • Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience with electrical and plumbing
  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. Persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. Person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee.

  • Excellent mechanical aptitude and knowledge of practices, tools, and equipment used to maintain plant facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform regular preventive maintenance and repairs on facility systems, including mechanical, electrical, HVAC, air compressors, and other installations.
  • Conduct general building maintenance such as replacing light bulbs, repairing outlets, fixing leaking fixtures, clearing obstructed waste lines, and removing trash
  • Manage preventive maintenance contracts and coordinate PM schedules for HVAC systems, air compressors, and potting machines.
  • Oversee site vendors and contractors, including scheduling, performance monitoring, and obtaining service quotes.
  • Serve as a primary contact for all facility-related emergencies, including fire alarms, HVAC alarms, and security system alerts, with response required during off-hours or weekends when necessary.
  • Monitor and respond to building security and fire system alarms, including systems serviced by Cintas.
  • Review and understand equipment operation methods and preventive maintenance procedures.
  • Perform facility inspections, including weekly hazardous waste inspections and monthly valve inspections.
  • Support after-hours building needs and facility activities as required.
  • Ensure proper care, safe use, and maintenance of equipment and supplies while promoting continuous improvement in workplace safety and environmental practices
  • Perform miscellaneous duties such as palletizing boxes, opening crates, and other tasks assigned.
  • Manage and help coordinate capital expenditure (CapEx) projects
  • Attend daily Tier 2 meetings and resolve 90% of safety observations within two weeks.
  • Oversee MESH programs, including Energy Control, Waste Management, Contractor Safety, and Fall Protection.
  • Manage and update Brightly (PM and Work Order system) and maintain the Benchmark compliance calendar.
  • Understand hazardous waste requirements as they relate to facility operations.
  • Respond to requests from hazardous waste generators to transfer drums from satellite accumulation areas to the central accumulation area.
  • Provide empty drums to satellite accumulation areas and ensure proper labeling of new drums.
  • Conduct inspections of satellite accumulation areas when required by site procedures.
  • Report on unresolved hazardous waste issues to Hazardous Waste Managers.
  • Provide initial emergency response in accordance with contingency plans and training.
  • Perform any additional duties appropriate to the position.
