Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree with at least 5 years of relevant maintenance experience. OR Masters Degree with at least 3 years of relevant maintenance experience.
  • Current Leaving Certificate and Trades Certificate (GSL) required.
  • Demonstrated experience supervising maintenance personnel in a manufacturing environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Experience working in highly regulated manufacturing environments (GMP, FDA, EMA).
  • Strong background in maintenance planning, scheduling, and cost control.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise Maintenance Technicians, including task prioritization, training, performance coaching, and completion of performance reviews.
  • Schedule and oversee daily maintenance activities, including repair, calibration, and preventive maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems within assigned areas.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with SOPs, cGMPs, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Procure spare parts, labor, special tools, contracts, and documentation (e.g., SOPs, CRRAs) required for maintenance execution.
  • Develop weekly maintenance schedules and plant shutdown work plans, identifying external resources as needed for recovery activities.
  • Serve as project lead for assigned maintenance or equipment initiatives.
  • Deliver refresher training to departmental groups to maintain compliance and technical proficiency.
  • Revise and maintain SOPs and other controlled documentation; manage inventory and specialized maintenance tools.
  • Receive and prioritize work orders from assigned departments, excluding emergency requests routed for immediate attention.
  • Ensure safety is the top priority in work planning, scheduling, and execution.
  • Estimate maintenance jobs, including task sequencing, staffing requirements, and labor hours.
  • Develop cost estimates for work orders, including labor, materials, and total execution cost.
  • Maintain and manage the maintenance backlog, ensuring work orders are scheduled according to priority and requested completion dates.
  • Participate in production planning meetings to coordinate plant schedules and negotiate equipment downtime windows for preventive and corrective maintenance.
  • Finalize schedules to ensure optimal utilization of available man‑hours and balanced workloads.
  • Follow up with Team Leaders and Maintenance Technicians to ensure scheduled work is executed as planned.
  • Review completed schedules and returned work orders; monitor progress and prepare maintenance performance reports.
  • Analyze actual labor and material usage versus estimates and partner with maintenance leadership to improve estimating accuracy and work methods.
