About The Position

The Maintenance Team Lead is responsible for safely performing emergency and preventative repairs to plant machinery and infrastructure. The Maintenance Team Lead responds to the needs of the production supervisor in the event of an unplanned failure on the production line. The Maintenance Team Lead effectively utilizes manpower and equipment to complete all repairs in a timely manner, thereby minimizing non-productive hours and enhancing customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Technology Diploma, Trade Certification or a minimum of five years of experience as an Industrial Mechanic and/or Electrician
  • PLC and basic drives experience
  • Strong electrical and mechanical knowledge
  • Proficient communication skills – particularly, the ability to explain complex electrical issues.
  • Must be able to perform physically demanding work, such as climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, twisting, and bending for extended periods of time.
  • Demonstrates strong computer proficiency, including the ability to learn and use new systems.
  • Demonstrates strong practical aptitude in diagnosing and resolving equipment issues; able to work independently while contributing effectively within a team.
  • Good, professional communication skills
  • Ability to learn processes, equipment specifications, and company standards through active use of resources, manuals, training, policies, and collaboration with colleagues.
  • Ability to work up to 12-hour shifts
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug test as a condition of employment

Nice To Haves

  • Metals, coating, roll forming or industrial maintenance experience
  • PLC experience, preferably Allen Bradley such as SLC 500, RSlogix 5/500/5000, PLC5, ControlLogix, Micrologix, and Panelview systems

Responsibilities

  • Safely performing emergency and preventative repairs to plant machinery and infrastructure.
  • Advanced troubleshooting of plant mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Responding to the needs of the production supervisor in the event of an emergency breakdown. Effectively utilizes manpower and equipment to complete repairs in a timely manner.
  • Cleanup of Maintenance and work areas where repairs are performed.
  • Safe and prudent use of company equipment and tools. Also, ensures a safe work environment by utilizing Lock-out/Tag-out procedures and reporting any unsafe condition.
  • Inventory of maintenance supplies. Informs the Maintenance Manager and/or Maintenance Planner when supplies have been removed from stock and require replenishment. Provides ordering information for replenishment of stock.
  • Utilizing the Work Order system both in entering work orders and completing work orders, as directed by the Maintenance Manager or Maintenance Planner.
  • Reports to the Maintenance Manager or Production Supervisor during off-shifts and weekends.
  • Understanding and complying with the fundamental principles associated with the Quality and Environmental Management System in place at BCP.
  • Communicates daily with internal personnel from Production and Quality Control to assist in resolving problems and achieving company goals.
  • Other duties as assigned.
