About The Position

This role is responsible for supporting the company's mission, vision, values, and goals in daily activities. The Maintenance Supervisor will provide direct leadership and supervision to hourly skilled trades colleagues, focusing on performance feedback, mentoring, coaching, counseling, and corrective action. Key responsibilities include contributing to departmental strategic goals, managing maintenance department objectives (safety, quality, production, delivery), maintaining and repairing equipment, overseeing preventive maintenance schedules, and ensuring accountability and discipline. The position also focuses on maximizing press utilization and efficiency, managing shift manning levels to budget, fostering positive morale and a team concept, and promoting a continuous improvement mindset. Additionally, the role involves coordinating training, new colleague orientation, performance reviews, and tracking improvement activities. The supervisor will communicate and prioritize daily work assignments, manage work orders in the MLS system, communicate overtime schedules, assist with new job setups, input colleague hours into Kronos, maintain communication scoreboards, and facilitate shift-to-shift communication. Championing engineering changes, participating in root cause analysis and problem-solving, supporting quality registrations, preparing accident reports, ensuring EHS responsibilities are met and enforced, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment with proper tools and materials are also critical functions. The role requires maintaining positive working relationships, high housekeeping standards, and adherence to all company policies and procedures.

  • Responsible for maintenance department safety, quality, production and delivery objectives in his/her area of responsibility.

  • Responsible for maintaining maximum levels of press utilization and efficiency.
  • Drive shift manning levels and utilization to assure compliance to budget.

  • Provide the proactive leadership necessary to achieve and maintain a continuous improvement mind set for the team.
  • Coordinate and assess required training and team building.
  • Coordinate and assist in new colleague orientation.
  • Complete individual work team performance reviews for probationary colleagues.
  • Track, monitor and implement required improvement activities related to business plan goals and issues.
  • Assist with plant activities to achieve quality, productivity and cost reduction goals.
  • Provide colleagues with the necessary training to be successful in their roles.
  • Communicate and prioritize daily work assignments to the team.
  • Enter work orders into the MLS system.
  • Assure work orders are completed in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Communicate the overtime schedule to the work team.
  • Assist in new job set-up.

  • Maintain the communication scoreboards for each line on a daily basis.

  • Assure all direct reports are aware of their Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) responsibilities and hold all direct reports accountable.
  • Responsible for ensuring the entire team has the necessary tools and materials to properly perform their roles safely and efficiently.
  • Assure all safety devices are properly in place and utilized and verify individual usage of personal protection equipment (PPE) by the work team.
  • Responsible for following all internal and OSHA required safety procedures in performing all daily work activities.
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with all levels of the organization.
  • Maintain high level of housekeeping in the work area.
  • Adherence to all company policies and procedures (ex. Quality Policy Manual, Colleague Handbook, Level II procedures, etc.).
