This is a working supervisor role that will assist the maintenance department as well as lead. The Maintenance Supervisor ensures that assigned work areas operate in a pro-active safety-focused methodology in compliance with all OSHA and company safety guidelines. They must understand the set up and operation of all shop equipment in the fabrication shop, inspect equipment periodically to determine problems and necessary maintenance, and report any defective equipment to the Manufacturing Shop Manager. The role involves continually evaluating processes and methods, recommending measures to improve production methods, equipment, performance, utilization of people, and quality of product. The supervisor acts as a technical resource to address and resolve inquiries and problems, analyzes and resolves work problems, and assists workers in solving work problems. Responsibilities also include maintaining departmental supplies, tools, and equipment, ensuring the completion of all required maintenance paperwork, records, and documentation, and managing staffing, including the interviewing process. The supervisor assigns staff to workstations, directs key work functions, and provides ongoing performance feedback, including completing and conducting performance reviews, providing ongoing performance coaching, celebrating successes, and addressing complaints and resolving problems. The supervisor will be required to be trained on all shop equipment associated with completing tasks for work to be performed, including any additional recommendations from the EHS manager. They will also manage training for employees to ensure each employee has been properly trained on all equipment and tools so the employee can properly and safely perform their work, working closely with the EHS manager to verify training is current.
