About The Position

The Williamsport Home, a respected Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) serving seniors in the Williamsport area, is seeking an experienced and hands-on Facilities Maintenance Director to lead our maintenance, grounds, and environmental operations. Requirements

  • Graduate of a technical school for general maintenance preferred.
  • High school graduate or GED equivalency preferred.
  • Must have a minimum of five year’s experience in a maintenance department.
  • Experience in a health-related facility and supervisory experience preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
  • Ability to make independent decisions, follow instructions and to accept constructive criticism.
  • Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors and government agencies/personnel and the general public.
  • Possess leadership ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise non-professional personnel.
  • Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, etc. of the maintenance department.
  • Ability to seek out new methods and principles, and be willing to incorporate them into existing maintenance practices.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and verifiable safe driving record.
  • Must have training in Information Technology and at least one year of experience working with computers.
  • Must successfully complete the required criminal background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Proven experience in facilities maintenance leadership, preferably in healthcare, senior living, long-term care, hospitality, or similar environments
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical systems, and preventive maintenance programs
  • Experience managing budgets, projects, and departmental personnel
  • Understanding of life safety codes, regulatory compliance, OSHA standards, and emergency preparedness
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects while maintaining exceptional service standards

Responsibilities

  • Direct and manage maintenance, grounds, and building systems operations
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable life safety, OSHA, state, and federal regulations
  • Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs
  • Manage HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and building infrastructure systems
  • Develop and manage departmental budgets and capital improvement projects
  • Coordinate contractor relationships, bids, and vendor services
  • Lead, mentor, and support maintenance department staff
  • Respond to emergencies and ensure effective after-hours coverage when needed
  • Maintain a safe, attractive, and functional environment for residents, staff, and visitors
